For example in the 1.09 format your stats were saved with a byte that had flags set for "has strength" and "has vitality" etc. It actually changed around 1.13 and stats and item mods are now stored as a 9-bit key/value list instead of the previous setup where a byte with bits was set describing which stats or mods follow it. Google translate should help with the French, but the PK thread is more up to date. They aren't actually key/value pairs in the classical sense, as there can be fields omitted (both the layer and value), or the may be multiple values encoded into both (see ctc stats). From a "legal" perspective this is pretty much identicial to copying all of the data into your program statically (which is what these large tables in the other projects do) txt files because they are part of the Patch MPQ file. Its less dependencies, unless you implement the txt parser or import libmpq and a bin or txt parser
